movie sunday

I must say, this movie was pretty bad ass. Not sure if this was a remake or not but if it wasn't, this was a long-awaited original movie I needed to see.

Weather outside was great. Walked around the city in "sandals" or "flip-flops" or as I like to call them slippers for the first time. Realized that Pandora is a much better Android app than Slacker.

Only bad part was the fact that I dropped $12 for Nachos and a large fruit punch.

Bummer...

lazy sunday

I finally woke up late for once on a weekend (11:36). Haven't ran in awhile so I did my usually 3.6 mile route around the city. The heat got to me, I was/felt exhausted. Still managed to finish in about 21 mins.

Took a stroll over to Rowland Heights to get my haircut today. Made a pit stop at the Nordy Rack in Brea to check it out. Robocopped a John Varvatos suit for $100 on clearance. Surprised nobody picked it up after the markdowns. Have to make some slight adjustments to the jacket though, even if it was only $100, gotta make sure it's worth keeping if the alterations are good.

Got my hair did and rolled over to my friend's family restaurant. Can't beat free t-bone steak, chinese spaghetti, soup, salad and drink. Pretty decent productive Sunday, wasn't able to catch a flick but I'll catch one next week most likely.

randomly late

-after texting a good friend she suggested I robocop the Kenneth Cole NY Caravan style for $20 instead of the Ray-Ban $125 version

-probably going to hit up little tokyo tonight for a late dinner
-robocopped a pair of brogues and some much needed black lace ups (cap toe)
-robocopped a light blue cotton summer blazer that I will wear all year'round (50% off)
-been bumpin' Robin Thicke - It's in the Morning
-I want to date a J.Crew girl (preferably with a little more weight but the following below are fine as well)

yes please.

My laptop is finally shot. It's been a good 4 years and probably would've lasted longer but damn you Windows and multi-virus attacks. You would think a billion dollar company would create a program to defend against viruses.

Headed out to Orange County tomorrow for a graduation. It'll be good to see the family and barbeque pending the weather. Maybe if it didn't seem like it was going to rain every day this week I would've actually washed my car. Maybe I'll have a chance to wash it tomorrow.

Wish I could watch Netflix on demand right about now but of course, the virus blocked that application from me. Awesomeoness.

Tuesday, June 8, 2010

Thank you awesome weather and random earthquakes. Sometimes I wish I could take public transit to work so I won't have to drive. I admire those who can just ride a bike to work or take the subway/metro/bus lines. Instead, my commute consists of d-bags cutting me off. I should start listening to Rosetta Stone in traffic, maybe an hour a day could help stimulate my mind a little.

Never. Not. Working.

Sunday, June 6, 2010

Just saw the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. I thought the movie was pretty good but

yes. please.

Thursday, June 3, 2010

My sunburn is going away. Thanks to some last minute SPF15 non-effective lotion. But then again there was no shade at the UCLA Jazzreggae Festival. I only went on Sunday b/c it was the only day that had a great line up. Sucks for anyone who actually wanted to see anything remotely Jazz.

To sum it up, Quadron was refreshing, The Foreign Exchange killed it, Q-Tip = A Tribe Called Quest concert and Raphael Saadiq busted out some great Lucy Pearl & Tony Toni Tone joints. Lest I forget, the ridiculous amount of beautiful women roaming the grounds. Summer was definitely in full effect that day.

One more day until 2 days of rest and it'll start all over.

Monday, May 31, 2010

It's starting to warm up, kinda. My sunburn isn't too bad from UCLA's jazz-reggae festival. I only went Sunday b/c the line-up was really good: Quadron, The Foreign Exchange, Q-Tip and Raphael Saadiq. Quadron and Raphael Saadiq blew my mind though. Q-tip basically performed Tribe songs which was also dope, especially since he performed Electric Relaxation. Straight bananas.

With Summer around the corner finally, I actually can't wait until it cools down again. J. Crew has been winning me over PRL as of late. Availability, fits/cuts, prices etc.

Fit. Goes. Hard.

Movie Sunday

Finally saw Iron Man 2 and it was pretty good. Not much of a huge storyline but it was pretty good. First time I ever caught the first showing of a movie.

Tried to stop by the tailor today but looks like he is no longer open on Sundays, which means I have pay for parking when I go pay him a visit. Absolutely hate paying for street parking, even if it's just a quarter. Another reason why Public transit needs to be amped up in LA.

Should be an interesting week starting tomorrow. Possible life changer in the next 2 weeks hopefully.

Donell Jones - Where I Want to Be

Just made Pad Thai courtesy of Trader Joes ingredients. Damn it was good. Went to my mom's house this past weekend. Me and my bro took her out to dinner which was nice. And of course when I went home, the temp was 109 degrees. RIDICULOUS.

Pretty rough Monday at work today. 1 day down, 4 days to go. I'll probably stroll through Costa Mesa and visit some fam this weekend. Weather should be nice.

Until next time...

Doobie Brothers - What A Fool Believes

I've contemplated a khaki suit for the past 2 years now. JCREW probably has the most affordable, well constructed and perfect fit overall in terms of price range. Just can't seem to pull the trigger on one.

Colette - Hypnotized

B A N A N A S

Heated up today during lunch. Even though it was easy, breezy, beautiful, covergirl outside, brooks v-neck sweater wasn't cutting it for today's weather. Not sure what's up with the Summer weather but LA needs some sun.

The light denim hunt continues again. Kicking Mule Workshop Darby 1950

MGMT - Kids

shit this knitted hooded coat is bad ass

and this Ben Davis fur zip is bananas!

could you imagine the SA's rockin' this swag in the early 90s? damn.

Sunday, April 18, 2010

Usher - Mars vs. Venus

If I could justify the price on one of these shirts, I would robocop.

Sunday, April 11, 2010

Passion Pit - The Reeling

Sometimes when you think you have something it slips away from your grasp. Most of the time, you'll never see it again.
Kid Cudi - Soundtrack 2 My Life

It's heating up and then it's cooling down and heating up again and cooling down again. On top of that there are random 'quakes. What the hell is going on?

Anyway, I am planning on purchasing these Evisu's for the warm weather

been awhile since I've owned a pair of light denim. These are too dope to pass up.

Monday, March 22, 2010

A Tribe Called Quest - Electric Relaxation

Just filed my taxes today finally. Thinking about purchasing a Macbook, paying off some cards and probably robocop a pair of jeans.

Spring is coming. Not a huge creative recreation fan but these are lookin' pretty dope

You can never have enough white shoes.

Consequence - G.O.O.D. Music

Ever wonder when your life will come together and everything will be alright from here on out?

Mayer Hawthorne - Strange Arrangement

what the hell am I doing up at 8:35AM on a Saturday morning? bad news.

Common - Come Close

Early signs of Spring this week with the warm weather. I actually wore a t-shirt to work today because the weather was so nice. Still brought a hoodie for the office though.

Had a late dinner at Bossa Nova last night with a friend. Decided to sit outside since the weather was so nice. 9PM and that place was still packed, pretty surprised. Either way, good food and good company can never be passed up.

Going to my first imrov show tomorrow at Hollywood Improv. I'm pretty stoked on how it'll be. It's got good reviews on Yelp so it can't be that bad.

Hopefully the weather stays persistent through the weekend. I'd like to bust out more tees.

Louis La Roche - Peach

Girl on Sunday

hmm, I think she needs help with those dishes.

Saw From Paris With Love today and it was exactly what I had expected: not very good. It was ok because I'm into shitty movies anyway. Finally tried Father's Office yesterday and yes the burger is delicious but I was more impressed with the Sweet Potato Fries. Me & Jerry hit up the Culver City location as recommened by a friend. Luckily we only waited like 5 minutes to find a table. Decent amount of cute girls there for a Saturday. Also picked up some Helmut Lang jeans. Broke my rule of not purchasing pre-washed/pre-distressed 'jawnz' but they were cheap and looked dope so I had to robocop.

Starting to heat up again. I can start running in short sleeves again.

Tuesday, February 9, 2010

Priscilla Ahn - Dream

Thank you random weather for raining today. Still love it though. Just didn't love the part where I had to walk in the rain wearing a wool sweater and wool suit pants. Still didn't stop me from running through the city tonight, even though it was 45 degrees out. Just watched (500) Days of Summer. Besides the musical selection, the movie was pretty good. The ending makes you want to hate the girl but you can't. Although I'd like to say it's the story of my life, it's only part true. Only difference is in my life, the girl has screwed me over one way or another.

Love is grand.

Saturday, February 6, 2010

Michael Buble - Mrs. Jones

Tired but I can't sleep. Every Friday since the beginning of the year has been the busiest day of the week. Literally the last 10 minutes at work I got slammed with last minute reports for analysis and adjustments. Nice. At least it's raining outside, it's cold and I love it.

Hopefully the rain will let up tomorrow so I could run my route around the city.

Tuesday, February 2, 2010

Late Night Alumni - Another Chance

My body is pretty sore from yesterday. I think I need to buy heavier weight gloves. My 14oz gloves just aren't working. My knuckles are about to bleed, they're so bruised. Rocked my new shoes today and one of the managers complimented on them. Wasn't feelin' the pic I took so I'll take another the next time I rock them.

Full from dinner and tired from running so it's probably time to crash out to some tunes from Kaskade.

Sunday, January 31, 2010

Al Green - How Can You Mend A Broken Heart

Girl on Sunday

Beautiful, brunette AND In&Out? game over

Hung out in Orange County yesterday with the fam. Ate in Westminster/Little Saigon inside the Asian Garden Mall. Traffic is easily more horrible than 99 Ranch in Alhambra 10 fold, no joke. Overall, pretty chill day kickin' it with the bro and my cousin.

Thursday, January 28, 2010

Goapele - Closer

Yesterday was the annual Conference meeting for the Retail division at work. It was pretty sweet. I won $100 so it wasn't bad. Afterwards, they shut down Lucky Strike for us so that was pretty cool, haven't bowled in ages OR shot pool. But the best part was hitting up a little after-party @ Lighthouse bar in Hermosa? or maybe it was Redondo? whatever. It was 'Reggae' night so the music was chill and I was with good company. Glad I went out.

I'm finding myself becoming a loyal customer to Trader Joe's. Not sure why I'm willing to pay for overpriced crap. It could be because there's a bunch of random shit I'm buying I don't normally eat or the fact that there's a ridiculous amount of cute girls crammed into one small space. Either way, I'm addicted to their various Hummus dips, specifically the Spicy Hummus. Damn good.

Sunday, January 24, 2010

Amel Larrieux - For Real

Finally saw Avatar today. Actually surprised since I didn't think I was going to enjoy 3-D. Can't front though, some of the effects got me. I was trying to swat away imaginary bugs/lint, Captain E.O. style.

Chilled out in Pasadena last night. Tried to come up on a shoe deal at Banana Republic but of course, all sold out. But I did robocop an Hermés-type of scarf at Zara, 50% off, holla! Cute girl helping me out also. Finished the night with some overpriced sangria with a good meal at 1810. Second time visiting, Yelp review worthy.

Some more fit pics from this week, gotta love Sambas

Wednesday, January 20, 2010

Misfits - Ghouls Night Out

Finally, it feels more like winter even though it's January. My Samba's came in and I'll probably rock them tomorrow. Pretty damn busy at work this week. Spent 45 minutes on the phone with the HelpDesk and then waited another hour just for them to tell me that all of my formulas were completely wiped out in my Excel file and I have to reformat everything again. Awesomeness. But at least I got to rock my new Varvatos slips I waited almost 3 years to buy until the price seemed more justifiable.

Might go to a Kings game tomorrow or finally watch Avatar. Who knows.

Sunday, January 17, 2010

Kaskade - 4 AM

And just like that, the weekend is over. It's all good though. Saw Sherlock Holmes yesterday. Pretty good movie. Only downside is I walked out of the theater into the rain. Thank you unexpected weather. All good.

I love the rain just not the horrible drivers that come with it. Looking forward to the rain all this week.

What to robocop, the Samba

or the Superstar 80s

Both are fly and iconic in their own right. Leaning towards the Samba, especially since they upgraded it with a shorter tongue for those non-Pele skilled athletes.

Perfect Summer shoe for sure.
